SPLIT DESIGN

split design, model

The subject that I picked is split design: which I picked because I couldn't think of anything else, and I made a bunch of drafts trying to get a story across, but I kept blanking. So I realized, that is my story. This first design is using a photograph of a pretty famous model (Jessica Stam), it was going to be cool because I wanted to be sure that part of her arm would go over into the other side of the design. I didn't use it as my final version, because I didn't want to use non-stock images as a focus of the design. Plus, the amount of positioning required to make that arm fit was giving me cold sweats. I'm sure there's an easy way to do it, but I haven't figured it out yet.

Split Design Attempt #1

split design, coffee

This is using stock from a stock website, but I didn't like it very much. It's interesting and it seemed like it'd be easy to code, but I wanted to be sure to follow the assignment and to have a section of images + captions + text on each side of the design. It looked weird to have anything but the fontawesome icons on it (though it's funny that I got to use the coffee icon, I know that's not what it means, but it's still funny. Because the focus of this would have been that coffee cup, the point would have been lost if I would have brought down the opacity of the image and faded into being a background.
